THE WORKSHOP
TOTE BAG HEAT PRESS WORKSHOP
WORKSHOP BY SAMI
HOSTED AT SOL CREATIVE FOUNDRY

Get to Know Us
Spend an afternoon or evening making your own tote bag using heat press techniques. In this 2 hour session you will get an introduction to using a heat press from Sami, an experienced art teacher and illustrator. She will then show you how to use it to create your own one-of-a-kind tote bag design.
What you'll do
You will be shown different methods of creating a design for your tote bag and how to use a heat press to make it permanent. Methods include using htv vinyl, heat transfer dyes and heat set pastels. Each method gives a different effect- experiment with one or combine them to create something unique. You will then create your design, finish it with the heat press and take home a personalised handmade tote! Having an idea of a design before you come is useful but not essential.

ABOUT SAMI
Hi, I’m Sami! I’m a multidisciplinary artist and illustrator.
I completed my BA in Illustration in Falmouth and have worked as a secondary art teacher for 5 years.
Originally from Whitstable, Kent, I moved to Cambridge a year ago and fell in love with the city and its historic charm. My practice is really varied and focuses on traditional and digital mediums; I am both an oil painter and a digital artist and love to experiment with new techniques and materials.
I love combining whimsical elements with colour to celebrate themes such as the natural world and the everyday. My dream is to one day publish a children’s book.
